This whole anal retentive validation crap needs to stop. There’s bigger things to worry about in this world and when I have to sit at my computer for days on end after finishing a web project stuck trying to validate code, it’s such needless agony. There are projects my clients require that completely don’t validate but I have to do them to get paid. Then because the validation activists are so hard to point fingers when something doesn’t validate, it makes my portfolio worthless for some projects that go against standards. It’s a mental mess that needs to die. There’s too many other aspects to web design to worry about that adding another headache on top of our jobs is taking it too far. I’m not developing these projects for validation freaks, I’m developing for my client and their customers. When the client is impressed, I’m happy and get paid either way.
